Requirements

This page lists the hardware and operating system requirements for the Macintosh and Windows versions of PrintPoint. Keep in mind that PrintPoint offers you complete capability. This means you can mix and match any combination of Macintosh and Windows clients and servers on the same PrintPoint network!

6.x Single User or Client Workstation

Macintosh System Requirements:

  • Intel Mac.
  • Mac OS X (10.5 or higher).
  • RAM: Minimum: 1GB. Recommend 2 GB.
  • Hard disk with 150 MB of free space.
  • 1000BaseT Ethernet Preferred.
  • CD-ROM drive (or connection to Local Area Network if installing over network).
  • Monitor supporting thousands of colors or higher, with 1280 x 1024 or higher resolution.

Windows System Requirements:

  • Core Duo, i3, i5, i7, Xenon, Celeron or AMD current model processor. (Pentium 4 - slow)
  • Windows 7, Windows XP Professional.
  • RAM: Minimum: 2 GB. Recommend: 4 GB.
  • Hard disk with 150 MB of free space.
  • 1000BaseT Ethernet Preferred.
  • CD-ROM drive (or connection to Local Area Network if installing over network).
  • Monitor supporting thousands of colors or higher, with 1280 x 1024 or higher resolution.

PrintPoint 6.x Server

Macintosh Server Requirements:

  • Intel Mac.
  • Mac OS X (10.5 or higher).
  • RAM: Minimum: 2 GB. Recommend: 4 GB.
  • A dedicated server is required to run PrintPoint Server.
  • 350 MB or greater hard disk space; approximately 20 MB per user is recommended.
  • 1000BaseT Ethernet Preferred.
  • CD-ROM drive.

Windows Server Requirements:

  • i3, i5, i7, Core Duo, Xenon, Celeron or AMD current model processor.
  • Windows 7 Professional, Windows XP Professional, Windows 2003 or 2008 Server
  • RAM: Minimum: 2 GB. Recommend 4 GB.
  • A dedicated server is required to run PrintPoint Server.
  • 350 MB or greater hard disk space; approximately 20 MB per user is recommended.
  • 1000BaseT Ethernet Preferred.
  • CD-ROM drive.

Additional Recommended Services:

  • 1000BaseT Preferred for Client/Server Network Interface Cards.
  • Gigabit Switch Preferred.
  • Broadband Internet Connection to access PrintPoint Update Server.
  • Timbuktu Pro or VNC for remote administration and support services. We also use GotoMeeting services as well.
