We've been hearing about the new Microsoft Vista operating system for years. It has finally arrived and we now have at least one user successfully running PrintPoint 5.0 on this new operating system. As soon as Apple releases Macintosh OSX Leopard in Spring 2007, we will begin testing to insure compatibility.

We looked at a number of
print management systems and the majority of them were extremely costly
and not very user friendly. Certain systems required us to purchase
modules or features that a smaller digital printing company like ours
would never use. PrintPoint was virtually one of the only systems that
addressed the majority of our needs, is easy to use and is reasonably
priced.
Before PrintPoint, almost everything we did from estimating to billing
and shipping had to be done manually. With this program in place we
have been able to automate and seamlessly transition all jobs from the
estimating stages right through to shipping. Our employees love being
able to track jobs right from their workstations rather than having to
track the customer service rep down! PrintPoint has enabled us to
streamline our estimating and billing procedures which gives our
employees more time to focus on servicing our customers??? needs. The
entire PrintPoint system has helped us become a much more efficient
business ??? and it integrates with QuickBooks which is a bonus for our
Accounting department! Not only do they have an excellent product but
we found their technical support people to be some of the best in the
industry. There is virtually no down time when it comes to upgrades and
any technical issues we experience are - more often than not - resolved
on the spot! We owe much of our increase in productivity over the last
few years to the PrintPoint program and its knowledgeable staff.

Data File Sizes
Some users are beginning to see larger data files, which can present a little bit of a headache for the user. Not to worry, we have two ways which this issue can be resolved. If your data file begins to gets close to 1.5 gig in size, we can quickly add a Data Segment to the file without the need to quit PrintPoint. If your data file is already larger than 1.5 gig, give us a call so we can use 4D Tools to add the needed segment. The process is painless except that you will need to have all users log out of PrintPoint before we begin.

Today's Tip
Suppose you want to create an estimate for a 64-page book plus cover and you would
like the estimate description to contain as much information as possible. The descriptions to be printed in the quote and job ticket should also be detailed.
However, when the job is completed, the descriptions printed on the invoice and shipping documents can be more generic. To learn how to modify these different
