The Printing Hall of Fame?
Who would have ever thought a printing executive would ever be inducted into any Hall of Fame? But that's exactly what happened to Roger Wehrli. Wehrli is the Vice President of a print shop in Missouri and a member of The Pro Football Hall of Fame's Class of 2007. Before Wehrli moved to the glamour and fame of a printshop, he was a pro bowl defensive back for the St. Louis Cardinals.

Bradda Printing Services is located in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. We have been in the print business since 1978 operating in the downtown core. Bradda Printing offers digital quick print, traditional printing as well as a host of ancillary services to meet the unique needs of our customers.

We have used PrintPoint since 2000 as the basis to automate our operation, streamline our quoting, order entry, job tracking and our real time reporting. News and Notes

Technology

Technology has definitely made our jobs easier. But, technology is only as good as the human using it. I ran across a story of a printing mishap that happened in Weatherford Texas that caused customers of Weatherford Electric to receive some rather unusual electric bills. One customer received a bill for $24 Billion. Over 1300 customers received bills with incorrect data. This occurred because of a mishap with the data received by the printshop from Weatherford Electric. Of course the printshop gets the brunt of the blame. Isn't that always the case?

Global Markup vs Local Markup

I recently received the following question:

How are Global Markup/Discount and Local Markup/Discount used?
So, for those of you who need a better understanding of the two concepts...

Global markup is set in File > Preferences > Global Markup or Discount. This markup is used on all estimates.

Local Markup is set on an estimate by estimate basis. It is used on that estimate and only that estimate. It is used in addition to the Global Markup/Discount.
