Definition: The process of making Identical copies.
In PrintPoint terms, cloning an Estimate or Job makes an Identical copy of that Estimate or Job. So, if the original item is incorrect, the clone will be incorrect.
Different Types of Cloning
Cloning an Estimate makes an exact duplicate of the original Estimate and any Notes and/or Customization contained in the original Estimate. However, this cloning has no affect on any information that was in the original Job. Since the cloning process was generated from the Estimate, any information that was entered into the original Job that was associated to the original Estimate will not be carried over to a Job that is created from the cloned Estimate.
Cloning a Job affords you multiple options. You can clone the original Estimate (yes, from the Job List View), which would work exactly like the above Cloning an Estimate description.
You could Clone Job-Reprint, which will make an exact duplicate of the original Estimate and the original Job with all notes and customization in place but the radio button Reprint No Change will be selected.
Or, you can Clone Job-Reprint With Change, which creates a new estimate and a new job. These will be exact duplicates of the original Estimate and Job except the Job will have the radio button Reprint With Changes selected.
Please take the time to become familiar with these options so that you can better achieve the results you're looking for.
